Over the weekend, American motorcycle manufacturer, Big Bear Choppers, held its 7th annual Ride the Mountain event at the Snow Summit Ski Resort in Big Bear Lake, California, a fantastic destination for a scenic weekend ride up through the San Bernardino mountains.
Intrepid SoCal riders unswayed by the overcast cloud cover and drizzle over the LA Basin were richly rewarded for making the trek up the mountain to find that at 7,000 feet, Big Bear Lake was well above the gloomy weather, providing blindingly bright blue skies and crisp fresh air for the day long event on Saturday.
This was the fourth year Vance & Hines has taken part in Ride the Mountain, and it continues to prove itself as one of the best motorcycle events in Southern California with tons to do. In addition to the poker run around the lake and custom bike show, this year BBC stepped up the show with a slew of feral entertainment, including a vaudevillian-style freakshow, live rockabilly, lion tamers and motorcycle stunts.
On the product side of the event, Vance & Hines showcased many of its newest offerings for 2009. Among them, Pro Pipe Hi-Output, the latest iteration of Vance & Hines’ line of performance 2-into-1 systems was on display at the show. Sporting a tough black ceramic finish, the Pro Pipe Hi-Output was designed with the objective to extract the maximum performance from Harley big twin engines, especially highly modified applications.
Two more big events are coming up in June for the Vance & Hines Show Trucks. First, you can visit Vance & Hines at Laconia Bike Week from June 13 through June 21 at Laconia Harley-Davidson in Meredith, New Hampshire. And later in the month, Vance & Hines will be at the J&P Cycles annual Open House in Anamosa, Iowa, June 27 & 28. Both Laconia Harley and J&P Cycles will be set up for sales and installation of Vance & Hines product at their respective events.
