Vance & Hines, a leader in the motorcycle aftermarket industry and recognized for quality performance exhaust systems, is in search of a Quality Manager/Director to become part of our Engineering Dept.

The Quality Control Manager will establish, implement, and manage an effective and ISO compliant Quality Management System. Plans, develops, organizes, and directs a quality control program designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with engineering designs and specifications. This person will have experience developing a quality program from the ground up.

Job Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities

• Provide the vision, environment, and strategy for Engineering and Quality to improve productivity and cost/cycle time performance
• Plan, develop, organize, and direct the quality program
• Develops QA plans by identifying critical control points and preventative measures, establishing critical limits and monitoring procedures
• Direct the activities of the Quality Assurance Supervisor
• Work with Purchasing to establish quality requirements for external suppliers
• Work with process owners to establish, implement, and maintain a QMS
• Work directly with suppliers to ensure compliance of supplied materials
• Work directly with customers to support quality requirements
• Prepares and monitors quality performance and improvement plans
• Monitors production conformance with QA standards and procedures
• Make final decisions on questionable products based on quality standards
• Identify staffing and training needs
• Hire, train, develop, and evaluate up to 5 direct reports
• Report regularly on the performance of the Quality Management System (QMS)
• Other tasks as required


• BSQA, BSME, or equivalent
• Strong working knowledge of Six Sigma principles
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in engineering and quality assurance
• Experience establishing an ISO compliant quality program
• Management experience
• Solid understanding of ISO9001 quality standards, lean manufacturing processes, statistical process control, and their application to a manufacturing environment.
