For the first time, American Flat Track will bring its Laconia Short Track Race to NH Motor Speedway! The Laconia Short Track will feature motorcycles in the AFT Twins and AFT Singles classes banging bars in a quest to earn points towards a national championship. The full race program will occur on SATURDAY, JUNE 15th with a pre-race party and attractions to be announced in the coming weeks. This event will co-headline the racing action at New Hampshire Motor Speedway along with the 96th running of the Loudon Classic, the longest running motorcycle race in America.
Located directly behind the North East Motor Sports Museum, crews are turning roughly 186,095 square feet of ground and 3,000 tons of clay to build the 0.25-mile track. Construction began in early October and is expected to take three months to complete, depending on winter weather conditions.
The weekend of on-track racing will be accompanied by off-track entertainment with a Katancha compound featuring live music, interactive displays and demo rides for motorcycle enthusiasts as well as new camping options which will soon be rolled out at New Hampshire Motor Speedway during Laconia Motorcycle Week.
