Martin Cardenas isn’t new to AMA Pro Road Racing but the Colombian product has been one of the biggest forces on the circuit ever since his initiation into the series. After excelling at the AMA Pro GoPro Daytona SportBike level and claiming two championships in the last three seasons, Cardenas will be looking to make noise on his Yoshimura Suzuki GSX-R100 in the AMA Pro National Guard SuperBike ranks in 2013.
Robertino Pietri has established himself as a major standout in today’s racing world. The Venezuelan will ride in AMA Pro National Guard SuperBike competition this year after finishing 15th in the point standings in 2012. Showcasing an all new team, new sponsors, a new crew and a brand new motorcycle, Pietri will debut the TeamMoto Venezuela PC4x4 Store by Prieto Performance ZX10R in 2013.
Another Venezuelan on the attack in 2013 is Fernando Amantini. After recording two top ten finishes in 2012, Amantini came in 16th in the AMA Pro GoPro Daytona SportBike point standings. The 29-year-old will ride the Team Amantini Yamaha YZF-R6 in 2013 after making the switch from sporting a Kawasaki in years past.
Two more Colombian natives, Stefana Mesa and Santiago Villa will lead an AMA Pro Motorcyce-Superstore.com SuperSport charge in 2013. The two will be backed by Triple Crown/RMR and have already shown proven success in the sport.
Immensely successful British SuperBike competitors such as Sandra Stammova and Luke Mossey will make the trip across the Atlantic to compete on American asphalt for the first time in their careers. Stammova, a British SuperBike sensation, will be racing a Rossmeyer’s Harley-Davidson in the Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson Series at Daytona. Mossey, at just 20-years-old, has already built a reputable image for himself overseas as one of the premier young talents of the sport.
Barry Burrell is another British Superbike rider who will be taking his talents to the United States this year. The Auckland native will improve an already lethal AMA Pro GoPro Daytona SportBike lineup for the upcoming 72nd running of the Daytona 200. Burrell finished 12th in the overall British Superbike Championship last season and finished strong with consecutive sixth, fifth, and fourth place finishes to close out 2012.
Former Brazilian SuperBike Champion Nico Ferreira will graduate to the AMA Pro National Guard SuperBike Series in 2013. Born in the state of Parana, Brazil, Ferreira competed in AMA Pro GoPro Daytona SportBike last year where he finished 28th in the standings.
